We’re Back for Fall 2019…and Better than Ever!

The fall semester has already been busy for VWC. We hit the ground running with preparation for Rotunda Sing only moments after some of us had moved back down to Charlottesville. Not only did we learn two songs in two evenings, but we crushed it onstage!

Be it because of our performance, our remarkable entrance, exit, and re-entrance onstage, or our persistent advertising around grounds, we enticed a number of talented young ladies to come audition for us. This brings us to…

NEW GIRL WEEK!!!

On Sunday, September 8th, we gathered on the steps of Old Cabell Hall to call up twelve talented women, congratulate them on getting into the Virginia Women’s Chorus, and kindly ask if we could kidnap them for the next couple of hours. Fear not, they were fed and returned safely home the same night.

But our traditional IHOP trip was only the beginning of the fun we had in store for New Girl Week. We continued to bond over Bodos, Pav dinners, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before until Friday rolled around and New Girl Night was finally upon us.

Despite being held on Friday the 13th, New Girl Night was anything but spooky (except for the part where we formed a circle outside in the dark and took turns smashing a piñata–that was probably a little spooky to innocent passerby). Families grew, various types of pasta were consumed, and a good time was had by all.

That’s all for this quick update! We’re looking forward to another great semester of singing and sisterhood!
